Dakota Ridge Invite Recap.....

Dakota Ridge Invite Recap....

It was a fantastic day. I am so very proud of all our parents, kids and Jeffco stadium crew. We pulled things off and had a fabulous day and we received quite a few compliments on how well the meet went. THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR HARD WORK!!!

We saw some great performances on Saturday from our student-athletes....

Kyle Cannon

Having a very nice season thus far, Kyle set a personal best in the Discus at 94-3 and is currently ranked 44th overall for Freshman in the State and #11 Freshman in 5A. A tremendous athlete and building block for a great future of our program, Kyle will look to get over the 100 mark over the closing meets of the season.

Jack Pool

With a throw of 123-1, Jack Pool moved into the Top 10 ALL-Time Dakota Ridge list. Jack will look to improve that personal best throw over the last few weeks and attempt to become the first thrower to score points for Dakota Ridge at the league meet in the discus in quite a few years.

Ethan Skinner

Set a personal best in the Triple Jump of 35-3.25. A truly inspiring and charismatic young man, He has been a joy to have around this year and if you didn't see the musical in February you missed a fabulous performance by Ethan.

Braden Mattson

It is what it is. A personal best 400m race of 53. 08 and gets him on the Dakota Ridge All time 400m list. One wonders if he any interest of getting on the 800m list now?

Iarusso and Freiheiter

Both ladies improved on their 100 hurdles Top 10 All time Dakota Ridge list performances. A couple of great young ladies it will be fun to watch them go for that sub 19 in the coming weeks.

Eli Harding

Eli makes everything look easy. So easy we sometimes think he is not trying as hard as he could. His talent was on display in setting a big personal best in the 300h on Saturday. Moving from a 50.11 to a 47.77. It was a big jump ahead for a hurdler and a welcome one. Fun to watch, Eli will be attempting to go sub 45 here very soon.

Distance Crew Day....
The hot days ahead will generate some really great fast times and far jumping for our Sprints and Jumps. Saturday with great air and cool weather was perfect day to be running distance. Personal bests were set by Mark Testa 10:07 3200m, Drew Valerio 10:53 3200m, Riley Abrashoff 4:49 1600m, Garick Howard 4:56 1600m, Tessa Quinter 6:06 1600m, Lillian Baxter 6:03 1600m, Olivia Fink 5:50 1600m, and Ben Morrin in the 800m...and these folks:

Michelle Renner

Her 2:20.69 800m race put her at # 6 All time in Dakota Ridge History and has her currently ranked #13 in the 5A State qualifier rankings. She will need a bit faster time, but she was phenomenal in this one and will be looking to get into the State meet via qualifying times in the 800m, 1600m and 3200m in the coming weeks.

Skylar Lodice

With a 11:56 3200m....Skylar moved to #7 All time in the 3200m for Dakota Ridge and became the 7th girl ever to break the 12:00 mark in the 3200m for Dakota Ridge.

Austin Vancil

Super Sophomore Austin Vancil moved his 3200m personal best from 9:53 to 9:41 on Saturday morning. There are only two names ahead of Austin Vancil on the All time list for 3200m at Dakota Ridge. Those names are big names in our history. His 9:41 has him ranked #11 in the 3200m in the 5A State qualifier rankings and puts him squarely in the conversation for making the State Track Championship as a Sophomore.
