Friday, June 8, 2018 BELIEVE Aaron LeBlanc April 26th, Jeffco JV championship. I knew this was my big opportunity to show what I was made of. I had dreamed of this moment. There I was toeing up to the start line in perfect racing conditions eager to just run. Everything in me focused on the start gun and all of a sudden, BAM! I was off racing my 3200m. I thought in my head that 8 laps couldn’t be that bad as I had prepared for the moment. I ran with some guys and then passed them. I felt good for 5 laps and then I felt like everything fell apart. I began to hurt a lot but I knew I could not stop. I knew I was going fast but time seemed to slow down. Through all the pain I heard one word that would change me. With me rolling into my last 200m I heard Stenny yell “Aaron, you have to believe!”. I thought that I was off pace so at first I didn’t think much of it but when I rounded the corner and saw the clock I knew that it was time for me to believe. I hit the finish line and stu...

Michelle Renner's Run of Courage. On Friday May 11th at the St. Vrain Invitational in Longmont....the depth of the clouds blocking out the sun bestowed a cool and dark evening for over a hundred student athletes waiting to run their final 1600m race of the 2018 regular season. For many it was a final chance to run fast enough to make the 2018 State Championship in the coming week. For Michelle Renner the overcast clouds and cool darkness of the evening was fitting. Standing with her coach, family and a couple of teammates, the darkness consumed her unlike anytime in her four year career. The tears welled up inside and burst from her eyes. Tears; the evidence of the pressure of the end, the evidence of the daunting task before her. Michelle had reached a breaking point, and their was nothing left of her strength to hold on to. She had reached the end. It was a week before, May 1st... where the end had begun. The text read... " Hi Stenny I'm sorry it's so...

Spring Break Early Season Review Off to a really great start to our season this year...finishing out March with a top notch effort in Grand Junction from those who went. As a team we are improving on our performances week after week and its been exciting to see kids getting to see the fruits of the hard work over the off season. Here is quick list of some highlights from the start of the year.... Kyle Scofield became the 8th fastest 200m performer in Dakota Ridge History with a 23.72 at the Grand Junction meet this weekend. In addition Kyle ran a 11.56 100m for a tie at #6 on the All-Time Dakota Ridge list in the 100m. A true revelation for us in Track and Field Kyle scored a ton of points for our team with some top 5 finishes in the meet on Saturday. We are so excited to have him here with us. Already making waves in the early going... Izaak McWilliams ....and friends Matt Heitmann and Kyle Cannon and Hunter Cosnter have been using all there early opportunity to launch...

March 14th to March 18th Update..... First off... Please pardon our getting things going here in the early part of the season. We are working out kinks in the system and getting kids used to communicating with us on their availability in meets. So we missed blog posts on these first 2 because of having to make last minute changes and not want ing to confuse kids in the early going. Its a very difficult process to manage the kids and all the other activities they do in life. Please bear with us as we go here. Kind emails and thoughtful questions are fantastic and if you are wondering about things please email so we can get things worked out with you. Great job in the last couple meets to ALL our student athletes. Things are looking fun this year already. Great Great efforts thus far. PLEASE SIGN UP FOR TEAM DINNER FRIDAY WE ARE VERY SHORT ON THINGS RIGHT NOW!!! Coming up... We will post this weekends meet entries Thursday night after 8pm when they are fin...

Track and Field has begun..... Yes...we are up and going for our Indoor Track and Field season...really the first of its kind in our school history. On November 30th at Colorado School of Mines we had five enterprising student-athletes take part in our first club Indoor competition of the year. We are super excited to see this level of interest and excitement for our sport. To have the effort to improve that we have seen already for Track and Field has been really impressive and has not gone unnoticed. Coach Gysin has been working extremely hard to bring about a new culture of Track and Field in our school. So far so good as we have seen some great effort already by the student -athletes who have been coming to practice. With Cross Country 2017 in the rearview mirror and Track and Field 2018 now ahead of us, we can start to look at what are the big questions to consider going forward. Dimy Dobrev What impact will Indoor season have on Outdoor Seaso...
