Resolve. Rest. Lots of information...

Resolve. Rest. Information... What a week. How many of you cannot wait to have our own track and field?  As far as our future track....I will be sure to remind Matt and Jim that putting the nets up on either end of the track is a MUST and will eliminate massive amounts of headaches in scheduling with Lacrosse. To date...we have been kicked out of four different facilities over the years because lacrosse practice. I will put the nets up myself if I have too. LOL. Despite everything all of us on the coaching staff see a brilliance and potential in the 2019 version of our team. With the biggest team in 15 years turning out for this season, we are so excited to see what will transpire over the coming weeks. We will use our creativity as coaches...you keep believing in us and yourself... things will turn out just fine. It takes a ton of patience and belief in the face of weather and injury and ever changing situations with practice to be successful in the spring in Colorado. Re...

March 11-16 2019...Track and Field... What to Expect....

March 11-16 2019...Track and Field ... What to Expect.... KEY thought for the team:  WE MUST SEE YOU WEARING WARM CLOTHES. I AM VERY SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING NOT ALLOWING STUDENT ATHLETES TO COMPETE IF YOU ARE NOT PREPARED FOR THE COLD WEATHER WITH PANTS, HOODIE, JACKET GLOVES, HATS...etc etc... I DO NOT CARE IF YOU ARE "WARM" IN YOUR SHORTS AND T SHIRT IN 35 degree weather. BRING WARM CLOTHES TO PRACTICE AND MEETS. END OF STORY.  Monday: Normal practice for everyone. Try to be done by 4:30 so we can meet as a team and highlight some weekend performances. Tuesday: Throwers as normal will meet with Amy at the school at 3:00pm..Everyone else should meet at Heritage High School at 4:45pm. Be prepared for cold weather (ahheem see note above). Also STAY OUT OF THE WAY of HERITAGE's practice. Also they have a district rule that you cannot run around in sports bras and for guys shirtless...you must have a shirt on at all times. We are guests in thier home, follow the ru...

Nil Sine Numine

Nil Sine Numine Nothing Without Providence   Tuesday May 31st 2016...I sat in my car staring at the beautiful track at Palmer Ridge High School. As the rain fell steady from the storm clouds enveloping Monument, Colorado...My thoughts raced around the track in my head. I had already accepted a School Counseling job at Palmer Ridge to take over for my close friend Kelly Christensen. I would also be taking over his head coaching duties for Track and Field and Cross Country. That day, it all flashed before my eyes. I remember sitting in my car reflecting back on the road I had taken to get to that day. I recalled taking over for Mike Callor in 2012 as head coach at Dakota Ridge Track and Field Cross Country. I remembered the day in 2013 at the State Track Meet I found out Johnny Halberstadt had sold the Boulder Running Company. I thought about the day in August of 2013, my disdain for our new ownership overwhelming me, that I woke up and decided to become a School Counselo...
